Description
Angel of Death
It is comforting to know that even in the verses where death is personified; there is no reference to any angel being granted permanent responsibility for terminating life on Earth.
2 Samuel 24:16 says,
When the angel stretched out his hand to destroy Jerusalem, the LORD was grieved because of the calamity and said to the angel who was afflicting the people,
Enough! Withdraw your hand

Thank you for the description, Dave; I hope the angel did withdraw her hand. The play of light is gorgeous in this image. Awesome textures in the background. I suppose an angel of death could possibly be this beautiful. Voted!

David, this is an amazingly uplifting interpretation of a nearly timeless image in archtypal lore!!! Your choice of hue in filtering the cold grey and white image of this sculpture brings life and grace and subtle warmth to it. Your comment reminding us all of the Scriptural perspective on the Angel of Death is transformative as well. Well done!!!! V

Excellent. V&F Look at that face ... no compassion there, only resignation in the set of the mouth. Yet it is lovely.
